Burned Feeling After Ct Scan
Did cat scan 2 months ago and one yesterday of chest with contrast. Been feeling discomfort and tightness trouble breathing 5 month. Would ct rule out cancer and major issues ? Ft scan attached came normal. Still having worse. Pulse fading. MRI next?
Not MRI. Specific CT: You ask a complicated question, so use HealthTap Prime because I don't have enough space to explain why you've been led down the wrong path. If the CT was a "high-resolution" scan, it should tell if there's any unusual growth. An MRI will NOT show anything if CT is neg. Your symptoms sound like COPD / asthma which will NOT show on ANY scan. What is fading pulse? Again, use HealthTap Prime or TTYD ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Ct uses xrays taken an 360 degrees combined with a computer to see"inside" the body. The table moves as the xray tube and detectors spin around the patient 10 times a second or more! the image shows excellent soft tissue detail, enhanced with injection of intravenous contrast or oral contrast. This way the body is shown in slices, in any plane, usually axially, but ...Read more

Sodium low&cortisol highi& fatigue&weight loss. Clear CT scan in Apr15. Symptoms persisted CT scan in Feb 16 clear. Could CT missed SCLC. Repeat scan?
Look outside lung: Yes CT scans can miss SCLC, especially if the scan is not a 'high resolution' scan with sufficient overlap. However, with 2 negative scans, you should look outside the lung. Head & neck cancers and esthesioneuroblastoma (tumor of nerves that sense smell) can cause this symptom pattern. Though rarer, SCLC can occur outside the lung, as well. A PET scan or whole body bone scan could help. TTYD. ...Read more

In : In a word, no. A single ct scan is exceedingly unlikely to cause you any problem of any kind at any point in your life. It is not possible to say that there is no risk at all, because any exposure to radiation (including cosmic radiation from the sun or from naturally occurring radiation that's all around us) can potentially cause a cancer. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Follow established : Depends on smoking, infection, enviornment history & size of nodule. At ~1.2 cm, ct or pet-ct may be indicated in 3 mos. With hi suspicion and no prior nodule, could biopsy now. Else consider that if repeat scans in 9-12 then 24 mos are all stable, then could stop scans. ...Read more
Pain in upper abdomen. Goes into my chest. Ct scan done sept 7 of abdomen normal. Worried about cancer still. If CT scan came back normal, am i ok?
I've had an endoscopy, colonoscopy, contrast cat scan and last friday 1/25/13 gallbladder removed. Still having a resting tremor in the abdomen area?
Whats better for diagnosing pancreatic cancer.... Ct scan or mri? I've had normal ultrasound and CT scan with contrast. Still worried.
Whats better for diagnosing pancreatic cancer? Ct scan or mri? 34yr male. I've had normal ultrasound and CT scan with contrast. Still worried.
CT, ERCP, MRCP: Thin-slice (3 mm) ct abdomen yields fine detail of pancreatic structures... Blood tests including tumor markers: ca-19-9, ca-15-3, and cea can alert the clinician for ca. Also, ERCP w/ ductal brushings (though its endoscopy) can search for malignancy. Finally, mrcp may add to the clinical picture, but 64-bit ct is slowly encroaching on the former's superiority. ...Read more
3 weeks ago at ER severe pain in upper right rib area. I was given ultrasound, CT scan, blood work. All tests neg. Wbc hi. Still w/pain vomit daily.
I've had 4 CT scans in last 15 months 3 head CT and 1 chest ct. Should I be concerned about radiation exposure from so many scans in short period?
Seems like a lot: That does seem like a lot of exposure but must ask why? Why so many? What is everyone looking for? Sometimes the benefit out weighs the risk. Sometimes you need it. I would say: sit down and have a long talk with your doctor to understand the issues they are looking for. Then decide ...Read more
Endocrine issues + fatigue. Clear CT scan in Apr15. Symptoms persisted CT scan in Feb 16 clear. Could CT be missing SCLC. Is repeat scan necessary?
By SCLC, I presume: you mean small cell lung cancer...a type of lung cancer that is aggressive and is a neuroendocrine tumor which can produce ectopic hormones. But it certainly wouldn't be the first thing you would think of if you have "endocrine issues." The thyroid, pituitary, adrenal glands need full evaluation as well as other work-up. If lung CT "clear" would not pursue SCLC as cause. Best wishes:) ...Read more
History of p embolism 2 yrs ago. Cesarean 8 weeks earlier. Two weeks ago suddenly confused. Ams. Ct & MRI normal. Yesterday lightheaded at work. ?
Fortunately: Your history keeps you aware of one of the worst case scenarios (pe). These symptoms could be totally unrelated, but the only way to be sure is to keep track of when they happen and anything else associated. This, coupled with a good discussion with your physician should help. ...Read more
Skin reddens w/o pain when scratched (arms, stomach) after abdomen CT scan with contrast . Caused by the iodine or radiation? Lasted couple days.
Still feel poisoned & have back pain when i eat any fat. Endoscopy, colonoscopy, barium swallow, ultrasound & CT abdomen = normal. What next? Ercp?
Ihave minor burning comes and goes and traces of blood on my urine. Had a CT scan done on my hip area everything is normal. My kidney blood test nmal?
See a urologist: You need to find out the reason for blood in your urine. Hip ct probably did not cover the necessary anatomy. Could the ct have been of the entire abdomen and pelvis? Also, was contrast administered via a vein? If no to either or both, may need a dedicated kidney ct (ct urogram), and/or ct for kidney stones, which is a common reason for blood in the urine, but does not explain "burning". ...Read more
