How do you get rid of hair bumps on the vaginal area?

How do you get rid of hair bumps on the vaginal area?

Laser: Shaving causes the hair to pull back below the follicle opening. The end if the hair sticks the skin causing it to get inflamed (bumps). Laser works well if you have dark and preferably course hair. Waxing works as well as electrolysis.

Get checked: You need yo se your GYN to find out what's going on. It may just be an external yeast infection, but could be genital warts.

BENIGN cyst: Cysts in vaginal area are common due to the many glands that provide lubrication, etc. The gland towards the bottom of the vagina can 'get plugged up' causing a fluid filled cyst (called a bartholins cyst). A complication of the cyst is an infection so I would see your gynecologist (or provider) for confirmation and treatment. Hope you're better soon!

Below: If it is an ingrown inflamed hair follicle then warm moist soaks for 15 minutes 4 times per day may help. If this is not effective, then a DR visit is recommended.

GYN exam needed: It is not possible to give a accurate DX with the description. I would suggest using some warm moist packs to the area until a DR visit is arranged.

Don't play doc!: Sometimes these can be hidradenitis suppurativa, or they can be infected bartholin's gland cysts. If you popped one a year ago ; it came back in the same place, you should see your ob/gyn. They might need to incise ; drain it, and pack it. They even put a little catheter in so that a permanent hole goes to the outside so it can drain on it's own. Should also culture for MRSA ; treated if need be.

Vaginal or Bartholin: Duct cyst. Neither, at age 18, is dangerous but vaguinal cyst might be infected thus causing pain & might need to be drained. Bartholin's cyst is caused by blocked bartholin's gland duct. Can become an abscess if infected by std or intestinal bacteria. Best consult gynecologist, may require antibiotics or surgical incision. In mean time try warm sitz baths for relief before dr. S appointment.

Genital lesion: Lumps, bumps, blisters and other skin abnormalities on the genitals need to be evaluated. An examination will be needed to know the cause and treatment. What you describe could be normal, a pimple, herpes, genital warts, syphilis or many other things.

Depends: You should see your doctor. There is no way to tell what is going on without a physical exam and a thorough history..

I have a painful red bump on my vaginal area. It's on the left side and is closer to the top of my pelvic area. What could it be?

Cyst: The most common painful red bump in the vagina are bartholin gland cysts (these are when a duct that normally drains into the vagina gets blocked and can fill up with fluid and pus. Sometimes a red bump is an infected hair follicle on the vulva, and sometimes it's HPV wart or even herpes. Unfortunately, difficult to diagnose over the internet, so best if you see a doctor and have it looked at.

Hairbumps I keep getting hair bumps in my vaginal area especially when I shave what is causing them and how can I get rid of them and prevent them?

Tough problem: Some people have sensitive skin that is prone to shaving bumps/folliculitis, and you may consider alternate methods of hair removal (depilatories - the gentle ones, laser hair removal - which may cause irritation, that will likely resolve, but hopefully w/decreased hair growth).

Your: Your symptoms could be any one of a number of things including a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, trichamonas, or some other infection or it could be something more rare such as a vaginal dermatits. You need a complete gyne exam with cultures and examination of your vaginal fluid. By doing all of this, hopefully your doctor will figure out what is causing your symptoms and be able to treat you appropriately. Good luck!
