I have vitiligo spot on my back and neck, it's only one spot it hasn't spread in years. I m getting chemical peel on face, would it affect myvitiligo?

Doubt vitiligo: A single depigmented spot is unlikely to be true autoimmune vitiligo. But before you get that peel -- why do you want it? -- I'd get with a dermatologist. You know that the koebner phenomenon can make vitiligo flare as a result of mild injury. Best wishes. ...Read more

Would a chemical peel help my rosacea? I am fair-skinned and I have severe rosacea. I am very unhappy with the way my face looks, especially the redness and the pimples. Can a chemical peel be used to achieve a better facial skin look for people with rosa

The: The international rosacea foundation (and most other experts) strongly recommend against chemical peels in rosacea patients. The reasoning for this recommendation is that chemical peels tend to increase inflammation and modify the superficial vessels in your skin (both of which are already problematic in rosacea). While you may notice temporary improvement from such treatments, your rosacea will rebound, and in all likelihood it will be worse than before the peel.
I've attached a link to a mayo clinic discussion about rosacea. I hope it helps!

Facial fillers vs chemical peel. Which gives better results?

Different results: The best option depends on what you are trying to address. Peels improve the tone and texture of the skin and will improve fine lines and wrinkles. Fillers are used for deep lines and wrinkles and/or the augmentation of areas of the face which need more volume (nasolabial folds, lips, etc). Seek consultation with an experienced facial plastic surgeon for personalized recommendations. ...Read more

When are you a candidate for a microdermabrasion or chemical peel?

No age limit: Microdermabrasions and gentle chemical peels can be very helpful in treating teenagers with acne. As we age, the skin turnover slows down. Is a chemical peel a top choice anti-aging treatment for reducing fine lines?

Fine line treatment: To treat fine lines, a chemical peel is a great way to start. To keep those lines from coming back, I would add a good medical skin care product as well as Botox cosmetic treatments every 4-5 months. The goal is to not only rejuvenate the skin but also to protect it in the long run. As such, a combination approach as described tends to be far more lasting than a single peel. ...Read more
