Possible, not likely: The 'bumps'' on the back top of your tongue are circumvalate papillae-type of taste bud. On the sides are lingual tonsils. White bumps on/in the tonsils are generally sialoliths, or tonsil stones. They usually pass without notice, but can frequently create inflammation, mild pain and serious bad breath. Probably normal: Everybody has a row of large (up to 1/8 inch) red bumps across the back of the tongue, called circumvallate papillae (google it for photos).
