I have had a cold complete with sore throat. I have big bumps on the back of my tongue with white stuff on my tongue. Is this normal for a cold?

It can be: The big bumps on the back of your tongue are probably your taste buds. I have red veins on back of my throat, this is the second time in 15 days, accompanied with yellow bumps tho tonsils are removed. Is it normal?

Pharyngitis: Yes, pharyngitis (throat infection) can occur even if tonsils removed. I would see someone to make sure this isn't strep (a bacterial pharyngitis). in the meantime, throat lozenges, warm liquids, and ibuprofen can improve any pain that you might have. ...Read more

I been having red bumps on the back of my throat for a while now close to a month and its been keeping me from eating very much because my throat gets swollen and I have trouble swollowing is it a normal strep throat? I been taking ampicillin for a while

If you did not have: A Quick-Srep Test or throat culture that was positive for Group A Streptococcus before starting antibiotics, no one can know if "strep throat" was or is the cause of your symptoms. You'd have to stop antibiotics for a while to obtain a valid throat culture, but your doctor can order blood tests for antibodies to mononucleosis & strep & look for other causes of your protracted symptoms. ...Read more

2 weeks ago I was given a Zpack to treat bronchitis, now I have had a sore throat for three days along with big bumps on the back of my tongue, normal?

Possibly related: One of the causes of bumps on the tongue and sore throat would be oral thrush or a yeast/fungal infection. This is more likely after antibiotic use when the bacterial flora in the mouth/body is altered. It might also represent an unusual form of drug allergy, or just be normal. I would probably ask my doctor to have a look at them. Good luck! ...Read more
