See PCP.: It could be an infected sebaceous gland. Have your pcp take a look and if needed get a biopsy. It doesn't sound like anything serious, but it would make you feel better to have it checked.

Bump: A bump on the head could be a number of things, but most common would be either a lipoma or a sebaceous cyst. Other possibilities would be fibroma or perhaps bone cyst. Best idea is to quit touching it and have it checked.

Recurrent lesion: Any lesion that recurs in the same spot needs to be examined and possibly biopsied despite not having any symptoms.

Contact doctor: It could be bleeding under the skin and you should contact your doctor as soon as possible. What kind of blood thinner are you on? I trust that it is not warfarin/coumadin!

14 yo: You need to be over 16yo to ask questions on healthTap, but tell your parents of your concerns to assure you do not have a post concussive syndrome. Good luck.

I have a bump on the lower left side of my head that's hurts and is causing me to have a headache. What could that be?

Lymph node: The most likely answer is a swollen lymph node. Acne at the hair line or an upper respiratory infection can cause the lymph nodes at the base of the skull and neck to capture infection and swell. The surrounding neck muscles that insert into the skull spasm due to the swollen lymph node and cause tension headaches. If the symptoms persist then see your medical doctor.

Consult specialist: You should see an otolaryngologist or neurosurgeon & most likely will need an x-ray study for problem to be correctly diagnosed. Don't wait another 5 months, this could be serious, but hopefully not.

Doctor can look: Bumps and rashes are difficult to describe in words. A primary care doctor, a urologist, or a dermatologist can examine penis bumps to see what they might be. Sometimes rashes are normal bumps like "pearly papules", but other times they may be from viruses like hpv or molluscum. For unusual rashes, a skin biopsy may be done by a dermatologist.
