You need to be medically evaluated as they have been persistent. If you get redness, red streaks, discharge, feel "flu like", or have a fever then you need to be evaluated immediately as an emergency. ...Read more

I have small bumps under my skin, mostly on my forearm. They are cyst like and itchy. Could itbe neurofibroma?

Doubt it: If you had neurofibromatosis, you should have been diagnosed at a much younger age. Neurofibromas are characteristically firm, as they are solid nerve tumors, rather than cystic structures. Itching is not a typical symptom of a neurofibroma, rather a symptom reflecting allergy or inflammation. A contact dermatitis or other skin condition sounds more likely. See your pcp or a dermatologist. ...Read more

Not sure: We're limited in this forum in trying to diagnose a problem with a limited amount of information. Use HealthTap Prime or talk to your doctor. HealthTap Prime will let you upload a picture of your arms that could help with a diagnosis. Also, risk factors (tick bites, exposure to sun / pests / etc) could be discussed. In any case, most of the time, you don't want to "pop" any blister intentionally. ...Read more

The : The most important question here is if the lump was present prior to the incident where he bumped his arm. This is a common, the discovery of a lesion that is thought to be from the injury that occurred but was actually present prior to that. The bottom line here is to have your son evaluated by his primary care provider. It may just be a simple cyst or lipoma, however it needs to be seen.
Best of luck. ...Read more

Not Sure: When you have bumps that come and go quickly, it is unlikely that it is a harmful condition. Some possibilities include a contact or irritant dermatitis, and hives. There are rare instances where people are allergic or get rashes to water. Many possibilities: Itchy spots can be from many causes, such as: hives, viral infections, other infections, medication causes, hot-tub rashes, heat rashes, reactions to creams / lotions, allergic reactions to various things (including foods), internal disorders (such as kidney disease, auto-immune disease), etc... That means a rash that persists or is worrisome in appearance should be checked by a doctor. ...Read more
