Can a child have a bulls-eye bug-bite mark and have something else instead of Lyme disease?

Can a child have a bulls-eye bug-bite mark and have something else instead of Lyme disease?

Anything is possible: But if the child has been in any area where there may be deer ticks they should be treated for lyme disease without waiting for serologic confirmation.

How long willit take for the "bulls eye" to come up to show you have Lyme disease from a deer tick?

How long willit take for the "bulls eye" to come up to show you have Lyme disease from a deer tick?

3-30 days or never: A bulls-eye rash (erythema migrans) after a tick bite is considered a sure sign that one has been infected with lyme & appears 3-30 days after the bite (usually 3-7 days). However, half or more of those proven to have lyme do not recall this rash. One should therefore not wait to see if they develop this rash to seek preventive treatment. The sooner treatment is started after exposure the better!

Could the red and white circles (bulls eye) around a tick bite mean anything other than Lyme disease?

Could the red and white circles (bulls eye) around a tick bite mean anything other than Lyme disease?

Depends on location: In the southeastern usa, a similar rash can occur following the bite of the lone star tick called southern tick associated tick illness or stari. Progression to arthritis or neurological disease appears not to occur.

Can blood test be false negative for Lyme disease? Bulls eye bite on 8/16/13 but symptoms much worse since anesthesia from g.B. Removal on 10/11/13

YES!!!: A bulls-eye rash is pathognomonic of lyme, meaning it alone generally proves you got it. Blood tests are notoriously unreliable for lyme-only half with lyme have a positive eia & the confirmatory western blot has many false negatives, esp. If not done by igenex, the only lab with a reliable test! Ultimately lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis. Treatment requires a comprehensive approach. See comment.

Lyme: Since she had some type of bites, it is possible what she thinks is mosquito bites may possibly be something else. It is important to visit a Dermatologist who may be able to provide you a more accurate diagnosis as there are multiple causes for annular erythemas such as Tinea Corporis, Erythema Annulare Centrifigum, Erythema Gyratum Repens, Erythema (Chronicum) Migrans, Granuloma Annulare, etc.

Tick bite and aches: You should definitely see your physician as you may have lymes or other disease without a rash. You still can be treated. See your doctor as soon as possible.

Further evaluation: I would suggest a work up to include further evaluation of your asthma which is being treated with Advair. The evaluation will include a pulse oximetry test with and without exercise. These symptoms may be related to uncontrolled asthma. In addition, a TB test and CF screening test can be performed. A complete physical exam and history will determine other causes.

Why didn't I get Lyme disease after I got a tick in my head half way under my scalp?

Not uncommon: May have been a wood tick and not a deer tick. Not all deer ticks are infected with the lyme organism.

See details: About 70% of patients with documented lyme disease never remember having a tick bite or the characteristic rash. If you believe you may have lyme disease, see your doctor and get tested.

What if you were bit on your head by a tick and could not see any ring or anything. How do u know if u got Lyme disease from it or not.

Many ways: First you can rum Lyme disease test to see if it is positive or not. Second you can watch the patient for any symptoms that could suggest Lyme disease. Third some physician might start the patient on medication for prophylaxis reason.
