Bulging eyes are eyes that appear large, extending out of the normal space of the eye socket. It may be seen in conditions where there is an overgrowth of the tissues behind the eye, such as in Grave's disease.

Yes: Grave's disease causes "bulging eyes" also called proptosis as the tissues around the eyes (the extraocular muscles and orbital fat) become inflamed and infiltratedwith cells and protein, the eyes are displaced forward in the orbit. The eyelids can also become retracted adding to the appearance. Patients get dry eye and corneal problems in addition to double vision. Controliing thyroid helps. ...Read more
