Bulging Disk In Neck
Multiple Sclerosis in me not active. MRI shows bulging disk in neck an lower back (bulging in not out) Does it have anything to do with my walking?
Let's analyze: If you possess bulging discs in neck and back, these are NOT affecting your walking in any fashion. You claim your Multiple Sclerosis is "not active", but instead, is it Secondary Progressive? Do you have a co-morbidity of B-12 deficiency? Is your neurologist an MS focused specialist? Do you need a second opinion? If your gait is deteriorating, there are reasons, and you need answers. ...Read more
The disks are protective shock-absorbing pads between the bones of the spine (vertebrae). The disks of the spine are also referred to as intervertebral disks. Although they do not actually "slip, " a disk may move, split, or rupture. This can cause the disk cartilage and nearby tissue to fail (herniate), allowing the inner gel portion of the disk to escape ...Read more
25yo. I have bulging disks in neck. Week ago i got new warm sensations down back of arm, triceps area, at random. I just need to know this isn't heart related. Chiro thinks it may b strained muscle..?
Possibly: Compressed nerve roots can cause fasciculations (small spasms) in the muscles controlled by that root, and these could be perceived as tremors. Also, weakness from root compression can upset the balance of opposing muscles, causing a type of tremor as your brain tries to compensate. However, if you are having tremors, there are many other possibilities, so you should talk to your doctor. ...Read more
Had an ESI done on Tues. to help relieve the bulging disk in my neck. The shots have only made more pain and in new areas. Should I be concern?
Bulging discs: I would contact the person who preformed the injection and check in with them. You may be experiencing normal injection site pain but it is possible to have a reaction to the medication. It does take the steroid a few days to kick in so it is not surprising pain not better as of yet. There are also rare occasions where injections can get infected. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Not usually : Unlikely. One possible scenerio is that the disc caused weakness leading to an imbalance but this is just speculation if the disc caused weakness in the area involved. ...Read more

Can a 4 bulging disk in the neck cause shoulder, neck, and upper back pain on both sides? What could it be that didn't show on the MRI ?
Yes: If you have 4 bulging discs in your neck they could cause all the symptoms you just described on both sides. If it was a c4 disc bulge that can also cause all the symptoms you just described. Lastly looking at your age, i would surprised to see a lot of pathology but it is possible. If this was related to a car accident, it could also be whiplash injury as well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My doctor has told me I have a bulging disk in my neck and lower back. The pain has now spread around to my hip. Is this normal? Been on gabapentin.
Back and hip. : Bulging disks in the low back can certainly cause hip pain. Discs however in the neck do not. It is very common for pain to start in the back and slowly progress and start to radiate along the path of the nerve which can be in fact in the hip area. Gabapentin tends to work best for burning or searing pain however dull achy toothache like discomfort rarely responds to that medication. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have bulging disk and I am in pain in my neck and having headaches what do I need to do for comfort?
Can bulging disc in your neck cause impingement symptoms? At what levels if any would cause that impingement? Would the bulging disk cause burning ?
Yes: They definitely could cause impingement to nerves, most specifically at the nerve roots exiting through foramen when the disc protrudes toward a specific foramen (opening on the side). This can happen at any level and can cause a burning sensation by irritating that nerve root. A history, physical and imaging is warranted. ...Read more

Ventral bulging disc at c3-4, minimal bulging disc at c4-5, mild bulging disk at c5-6, mild bulging at c6-7, cause of back, neck and shoulder pain?
Got a MRI of head and cspine due to imbalanced issues.Came back with bulging disk c5-c6 can this be causing the neck pain and imbalanced issues?
Yes and No: A bulging disk is an anatomical term. If the disk is compressing the spinal cord or nerve roots it can cause pain, neurologic symptoms including balance impairments. If the disk is bulging and not compressing any neural elements it can cause pain but usually no neuro symptoms. An expert neuro exam and carefull review of the images will need to be conducted by your dr. To determine the relevance. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
