My wife had an IV in her arm and it was removed 3 days ago and now her arm hurts and the back side of her hand has blue veins. Is this normal?
Not necessarily: An IV that has been out for three days shouldn't hurt or be uncomfortable anymore. The presence of distended or darker veins is concerning for a blood clot.
