Bug Bite With Blister And Redness
What could cause rash, blistering/swelling, and scabbing on ear.. With no history of burns, scrapes, insect bites, or contact with allergens?
? Impetigo: What you describe sounds suspicious for impetigo, a strep infection of your skin. You can have a tiny break in your skin that you were not even aware of, and the normal skin bacteria could then enter in and cause a local strep infection. The "scabbing" is what makes me especially suspicious. Try washing with antibacterial wash, put on antibiotic ointment, and if not better in a few days, see doc. ...Read more
Natural Process: With injury to our skin, inflammation occurs which means the area becomes red, warm, tender and with swelling. Swelling occurs under the skin layers and causes them to bulge creating a protective fluid cushion called a blister. As the area heals, the fluid will be resorbed or when no longer needed, the blister opens and it drains. This should take about a week. Keep it covered and protected. ...Read more

Possible spider bite? Blister on arm, area is red around the blister, arm is sore, mild discomfort. Maybe hobo spider? Go 2 ER now to reduce damage?
Probably not: There are hobo spiders in WA. If they ever bite at all, the result is much less severe than brown recluse. Expert opinion differs as to the existence of any bites by hobos. They are very reluctant to attack. Unless you saw and felt a bite, then took the creature for expert identification, assume it is something else. Best bet is a dermatologist. ...Read more

Woke up with an insect bite on my inner thigh. Two itchy bumps with bruising around them. Should i see a doctor. Can't see the puncture marks.
Insect bites: Generally speaking there is no need to see a physician for most insect bites. However if there is significant pain at the site or if you start experiencing other body aches/muscle spasms, or if the bite itself starts to ooze or if the bruising starts getting really dark then i would definitely get it checked out. ...Read more
I have 2 blisters from some type of bug bite. Looks like 2 blood blisters with small rash bumps around the blisters. What could this be?
Possibly fire ants: Some types of ants, like fire ants, are venomous. Ant bites and stings typically produce a sharp pain and a burning sensation and result in a white, fluid-filled blister a day or two after the sting, lasting from three to eight days. There may also be itchiness, redness, and swelling associated. "Blister beetles" can also do that. ...Read more
