Bug Bite That Burns And Blister
What does a brown recluse spider bite look like I have a bite on index finger and the skin is coming off. It burns and itches, has little ant bite type bumps
A : A brown recluse bite can have different appearances. There can be almost no signs of the bite or there can be a dark escar (scab) with surrounding white tissue (that is dead). In some cases the brown recluse's bite can be necrotoxic and cause very severe damage. It can large amounts of skin to die and can eat into the muscle as well. This type of reaction is usually associated with fever, muscle and joint pain and feeling very ill. I can not diagnose the cause of your symptoms. Brown recluses are actually very little and non-descript looking. If your skin is sloughing off your finger - do recommend that this be medically evaluated. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Leave it alone.: I generally don't recommend popping blisters of any kind unless they are painful, because of the risk of infection. If it's not bothering you, cover it with a bandaid. If it itches, apply Hydrocortisone cream 2-3 times a day. If it gets painful or tender, or develops a red ring around it, see your doctor or a dermatologist. ...Read more

The feet are most prone to blood blisters due to poorly sized footwear. The hands are also susceptible for this type of blister, . ...Read more

Small blister is: Likely ok. Seek medical care asap if you think a spider bit you ; you have severe pain (can be felt at bite site ; possibly chest, back or abdomen); abdominal cramping /rigidness or ulceration of skin at site. You may need a tetanus shot (if you don't know when your last shot was or it has been > 10 years). Also medical care if you develop signs of secondary infection. ...Read more
Only if it is tense: Usually we don't recommend popping blisters, as the intact skin prevents infection. The fluid will generally resolve on its own. If the blister is tense and painful though, it can be helpful to drain the fluid. I would try to keep the skin intact as much as possible. And cover the wound with a bandage. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Are there mosquito bites that do not itch? I have a bug bite , same size as mosquito bite but it's not itching or turning into a blister
Yes but: The very first mosquito bite may not induce itching but subsequent ones will since one then becomes allergic to the components in the venom. Not all insect bites induce itching (spider bite for example) . The odds are against a mosquito bite not being itchy and thus the bite was likely from another insect. ...Read more
