Manage it anyway: There's no telling when acne will go away on its own. I was able to stop using topical benzoyl peroxide etc. when I was 50. Try this. Resolve that you're going to tough this out. See if you can tolerate 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and ask your physician about adding topical clindamycin or systemic tetracycline. It won't be pleasant but I bet you can bear it. Best wishes. ...Read more

Isotrenoin medication for acne. What is the side effects?

Rarely used: There are the common mild and rare severe side effects all of which lead to limited use of this agent. The specifics can be found on the Accutane websites. Is there a new, experimental acne medications routine?

No: A few years ago, a british drug company was investigating a sebum-suppressor that was supposed to be safer than Isotretinoin either for systemic or topical use, but lost interest for reasons that aren't certain -- probably it was a disappointment. Whole body: When a systemic antibiotic changes the body's flora, the effects will be seen where bacteria are already a problem. This is common to medications in general, even though they seem magic. ...Read more
