It All Depends: All other answers are valid. However, I'd like to add that if the temp crown was recently placed while you're waiting for a permanent crown, the black coloration can be from bacteria getting through the temp crown. It's a result of not having a good seal with the temp crown and usually not a cavity. You commonly see this if the temp crown has been in place for some time where the seal is bad. ...Read moreSee 5 more doctor answers

Loose tooth front bottom crack in tooth small bump at bottom of tooth sometime with pulse in it no tooth pain is that normal?
Small moveable bump on the bone behind wisdom tooth. No redness but swollen. Burning pain and mucosa sensitive. Salty when push on. Wis tooth cavity?
Do granules of a dental bone graft move around? Like under your interior jaw bone near the extraction site.
Hopefully minimal: One of the reason why the bone graft fail is the instability or movement of the graft. True grafting required graft stabilization with membrane, cages (titanium fixture to protect graft), or screw in the case of block graft. Micromovement of graft will hinder the fibroblast migration and adhesion and interupt vascular genesis. Must achieve good clotting and full closure for graft stabilization. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Top right gum is swollen & painful. It's near the wisdom teeth & right above one tooth which had root canal procedure. Is it infection or gum disease?
Could be either: A localized infection in that area of gums is difficult to diagnose without and exam and an X-ray . It is possible that the tooth with the RCT is failing and you have an infection associated with that tooth. Or, possibly, the tissue around the wisdom tooth is infected from food impaction or eruption . See your dentist for a definitive diagnosis ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Little brown patch/chip near gum line on the front of a bottom tooth 2 over from the front teeth. Sound familiar?
Some people do ok: You have to be ready to feel something though. You will feel the "local" because it is an injection (needle). Motivated adults and "patient" dentists make this technique work well. Then you will feel tugging, pulling, and possibly some discomfort. The advantages have to do with not getting more complex anesthesia. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
