I have a bruise the size of a dime with two brown puncture wounds directly in the middle of the bruise. Spider bite?!?
What is the best ointment to be put on wound/cut for a person who is diabetic. My friend had a bruise and now some liquid coming from it.
Wound care: Is difficult in patients with diabetes. Clean the wound with warm soap & water. Apply Neosporin & dress with bandage. If there is pus or liquid coming from the wound, you should have a doc evaluate it & if warranted, prescribe antibiotics to help it heal. Make sure blood sugar is absolutely controlled. If it is not, makes it difficult for the wound to heal. Do not hesitate to have doc check it out ...Read more
My 3 year old son has a dime sized bruise with two little puncture wounds in it. There is a small bump but it does not seem to be causing him pain. ?
Spider bite?: Depending on where you live, there are some spiders that can cause skin to be damaged (i.e.. Brown recluse). It could also be just an allergic reaction to the bite. I thought of bite by spider because of the two spots you describe. I would give a little bit of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (check dose w pharmacist) and seek medical attention if it seems to be spreading or turning darker red/purple. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Kidney removed a week ago. No pain around wound, extreme bruising & pain on opp side on torso & leg. Ok walking but trouble sitting/lying down.Normal?
Post-op nephrectomy : If your pain and bruising is on the opposite side of the nephrectomy, i would be concerned for a possible retro peritoneal hematoma, essentially a bruise with a collection of blood that may take long to resorb. When you stand up there is less pressure on the nerves running through that space, you will feel it more sitting. Need to talk to your surgeon about this, esp. If you take blood thinners. ...Read more

Grade 2 hamstring tear 2 days ago, heard pop, no bruise. Mobility low, but improving. Steep ski slope 3-mile mud run coming in 7 weeks. Advisable?
Cutting it close: A true grade 2 tear of a hamstring involves actual separation of muscle tissue and bleeding and subsequent inflammatory response locally. This can often be a 6 to 8 week injury to heal. This precludes the training required for the event and coming back too soon can lead to recurrent and actually a worse injury. A good course of physical therapy with a pt that understands the injury is beneficial. ...Read more
