Bruised Tendon In Foot
Fell on knee snowboarding; swelling, bruising, searing pain in patellar tendon area when flexing foot up; can move, walk, stand fine. Thoughts?
I got an ultrasound done for pain in my lower Achilles' tendon. It bruises up whenever I walk a long distance. Turns out, I have three small cysts ranging from 4mm to 6mm. Since I'm on my feet a lot, I went to a podiatrist & got orthotics & orthopaedic sh
Try and See.: I would love to see if your other heel would show "cysts" also. I'm not sure if the orthotics and/or orthopedic shoes are going to help, but, give them a try and see. "Bruising up" implies damaging of blood vessels and subsequent leaking of blood into the tissue area. The Achilles tendon, like most tendons, does not have a great blood supply. That would depend on: How bad the strain was. Usually, for the most part these are not dangerous injuries but more annoyances that you can't do what you want. Rest, ice, or heat after the first 48 hours are good. You can brace or wrap the injured region. ...Read more
Stretch: If the flexor tendon is too tight it will also cause cramping of the arch area. You need to stretch out your great toe by hyperextending it gradually (holding your big toe toward your face) also use some icy hot, etc. Make sure that you stretch this at least 2 times daily, and before and after exercise.Good support is also needed in the shoes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Snapping tendon: It is possible that over time, the bony callous (thickened area) will consolidate and remodel so that it is thinner, and at that point, the tendon may not snap over it. Time will tell. ...Read more
My ankle hurts after 3wks recently went to pcp he said my tendon is tender but it keeps hurting to walk. Should I be walking on my foot?
I tore a tendon/ muscle on my left foot. Had gone for treatments. Foot still feels tender when I stand or walk. How long before foot heals.
Depends: How long it takes a tendon/muscle injury (sprain, strain, etc.,) to heal depends on how serious the injury is. Since you have needed therapy, then the injury is not a minor one. It is also more noticeable because the injury occurred on your foot, which you have to use to walk. (An injured little finger, is easier to deal with, since you don't have to use it as often). Your Doc can tell you best. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
