Sounds like a bru --: Ised elbow, as the xrays were negative. Protect the elbow, for a 10-14 days and if its only a bruised, it'll get better. If not improving or getting worse, get a another xray as in some cases initial xray may not show a fx, which was present. So protecting it for 2 weeks and re-xraying it would be the way to go. If U hit the point-: -of the elbow there is a bursa & it often fills with blood or fluid, & can swell quite a lot. If U have a scrape or skin violated it can become infected. Early Rx is best. C an orthopedist 4 eval sometimes aspiration is done and steroids injected. This is extraarticular so no steroid enters the joint.
