Bruised Tail Bone With No Visible Bruise
Do soft tissue sarcomas usually bruise. Lump and bigbruise on foot (no mem trauma) diagnosed as broken vein/vessel. Was told sarcoma wouldn't bruis?
Don't usually bruise: Sarcomas of the foot uncommon. The most frequent sarcoma is liposarcoma that would be extremely rare followed by fibrosarcomas usually beginning with plantar fibromatosis and extending to the fibrosarcoma which rarely is vascular and doesn't bleed. The most aggressive tumor of the foot is the synovioma and epitheliod sarcoma which can bleed and tends to rapidly spread. ...Read more
Bruise Or Contusion (Definition)
Bruises, or ecchymoses, are discolorations and tenderness of the skin or mucous membranes due to the leakage of blood from an injured blood vessel into the surrounding tissues. A serious disease called pupura presents as a cluster of small bruises called petachia. Petachia often appears as many tiny red dots clustered together, and could indicate a problem. ...Read more
Slipped on ice, landed on right elbow. Xrays showed no big break. Its bruised, swellings down. Elbows very sensitive. Hairline or just bruised bone?
Sounds like a bru --: Ised elbow, as the xrays were negative. Protect the elbow, for a 10-14 days and if its only a bruised, it'll get better. If not improving or getting worse, get a another xray as in some cases initial xray may not show a fx, which was present. So protecting it for 2 weeks and re-xraying it would be the way to go. Good luck. ...Read more

See below: Sounds like you have coccydynia or 'tailbone pain'. This can occur with trauma to the tail bone, abnormally positioned coccyx, or poor sitting posture. Try using a good lumbar support to help shift your pelvis forward. This will put the pressure on your ischium. (bottom part of pelvic bone), and will shift the weight off of your coccyx (tailbone). ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Elbow pain for over 2 weeks. Xrays neg. Still hurts. Why? Nerve damage? Tissue damage? Swollen and tender. No visible bruise.
Inflammation: Swelling denotes inflammation. X-rays being negative means no fracture and you are too young to have osteoarthritis. The inflammation could be tendonitis, bursitis, or some type of inflammatory arthritis depending on where the swelling is located. See an orthopedic surgeon or a rheumatologist if you have not received a diagnosis and plan at this point. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Bruise on forearm with white lump in middle. Reddish-purple 2" diameter doesn't hurt, don't recall hitting it. Is it a bruise, boil? Not bite marks
Painless oval lump above right knee. Firm and doesn't seem to move. No discomfort or recent injury. Near former unicameral bone cyst. ?
More information ndd: You probably have an idea whether it's in the skin layer or deeper. It sounds deeper than the skin (doesn't move). Since firm, it's prob. not a benign fat tumor (lipoma). In that case it suggests either a cyst (fluid-filled) or a fibroma (think of as overgrowth of scar tissue), both also benign. However this is something you may want to have your doctor, NP or PA look at sometime. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Hit the center of proximal phalanx on my right pointer finger. Swollen knot, bruising & painful bending. Bruised or would raised knot mean fracture?
Fractures can swell: either locally or diffusely. A knot may mean there is a very bad bruise to skin or it could mean a fracture. A fracture in the finger can be nondislplaced meaning everyting moves well and is lined up so one does not necessarily have a great deformity, joint fractures or fractures in the plane of motion with swelling may not loo obvious except for pain and swelling. If symptoms persist, get seen ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Fell over yesterday, landed v hard on right sitting bone. Severe pain especially with walking or pressure. Red line on skin but no bruise. Fracture?
Possibly: The "sitting bone" you are describing is likely the ischial tuberosity which can become bruised in a fall or even fractured. There is not a lot we do for those type of injuries, but thankful they usually resolve pretty quickly. If pain is not getting better after 5-7!days it would be good to be seen to confirm the diagnosis. ...Read more

Foot sore on top at "bend" between leg. Deep, dull pain close to ankle bone. No bruising/swelling. X-ray show no fractures. Able to walk, hop, etc ?
Possibly impingement: The anterior ankle joint may become painful when the foot is excessively dorsiflexed during activity. The soft tissue or joint capsule becomes "pinched" between the tibia (leg) and the talus(foot) causing pain. X-rays will show no fracture due to only soft tissue involvement. Typically minimal swelling or bruising. ...Read more
