Bruised Ribs And Nausea
Muscular: You likely either hurt the muscle or bruised the bone, especially if it hurts to the touch. Would take an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen for a few days to see if it gets better. If you have other symptoms or problems breathing you may need to see your doctor. It may take several weeks to go away

You may have a: Serious condition involving an autoimmune disease called TTP (thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura) or HUS (hemolytic uremic syndrome), both of which could cause these bruises in the middle trunk and/or lower extremities. Please proceed to the nearest emergency room facility to be checked out properly. Do not wait do it now. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap.
Should check heart: A person with bruising aches at the chest or left shoulder can see her doctor to be evaluated. Pains can come from a heart problem (serious!), neck and shoulder muscles, the ribs and their joints, the lungs inside the chest, etc... If one has chest symptoms and has nausea, or some difficulty breathing, or has past heart disease, she may be having a heart attack, and can go to the ER by ambulance.

Left sided pain: Any urinary symptoms or fever? Left sided flank pain may be a sign of a kidney stone (depends on your age) or possibly a kidney infection. Have you noticed any issues with your urine - darker or blood? If so - could be the infection or stone. Initially I would push fluids. If no improvement - probably best to see your doctor.

See below: Usually bruised ribs will feel sore at the site of the bruise. Other symptoms might be difficulty with breathing because the ribs move when we breath. When ribs are actually broken there is a remote chance that a broken piece can puncture the lung underneath it which would cause severe shortness of breath.
Pain: Pain/discomfort which may be increased with respirations.
Tylenol/NSAIDs: Regular over the counter pain meds can ease the pain. Alternating warmth and cool may help. Narcotics should not be required. If pain is severe confirm no fracture.

Very: Painful injury. NSAIDs will help with the pain and inflammation. But he may need something stronger to help him rest at night. Unfortunately this injury is hard to treat. Everything he does he will feel it in his ribs. Time will help best if all. Talk to your doctor about some treatment options
