Middle finger has purple bruise in middle where the joint is and pains when is bent. Been 2 days. Hit by cricket ball while catching?
Need exam and x-ray: Possibilities include fracture, sprain of ligaments, partial or complete detachment of a ligament etc. It's important to be examined by a physician to see if there is any evidence for joint instability. Some injuries to the finger can result in a deformity if not treated properly.
Slammed my finger in a window two weeks ago, finger is bruised, swollen and still painful when used. Could I have fractured the distal joint?
Could B, but also-: -could be due 2 blood under the nail. The body has amazing pressure sensors, that protects us. It's the body telling you 2 cool it. Use it less. 2 be sure, an X-ray is needed, but if it looks like a finger & not pointing in the wrong direction, it will heal if you take care. Image is of a kid, fractured through the growth line, & if your finger points off direction compared 2 the others, C ortho.See 1 more doctor answer

On family trip 10 yr old hurt finger basketball joint @tip is bruised and hurts went 2 er 8 hr wait & dirty bought a splint can wait 2 Monday see r dr?
Cannot say ok 2 wait: Would need to see in person. If you were worried enough to go to ER in first place, probably not a good idea to wait. ER waits can be long and that is frustrating.
I am an avid rock climber. I have a bruised and swollen middle joint on my middle finger. What are the possible connective tissue injuries/treatments?
Rest: Rock climbing puts a lot of stress on the small tendons and joints in the hand. We really weren't designed to hang by our finger tips. The swelling and bruising is a sign of overuse or strain. I would recommend that you rest the hands until they feel better. This could take a few weeks! If the pain returns as soon as you start climbing again, see a hand surgeon.
See a doctor: You may have inflammatory arthritis or any type of arthritis. Your doctor will correctly diagnose this and order xrays if needed. Make sure you drink lots of water and avoid caffeine and alcohol since they can dehydrate you. Easy bruising is caused by fish oil, aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, alcohol, and many prescription drugs. Feel better soon.
I have pain on inside of my right knee. If I poke my finger right between the joint it feels like a bruise. It is a nagging pain when walking?
? Meniscus: The location of your pain and tenderness suggest a possible meniscus (cartilage) tear. The medial meniscus can cause pain w/ walking and may worsen w/ turning, twisting, pivoting or squatting. The meniscus acts as a ' shock absorber ' or cushion between your tibia and femur and does not heal once torn. See your board certified orthopedic surgeon for exam and definitive diagnosis. Gl!
