You would know it's stuck in your throat: If it was stuck in your throat, you would have pain in your throat, and it would feel like something's not going down completely. So that's good. The gastritis may or may not be related to that. Chances are higher if the bone was small enough, and it's in your food, and passes out of your body as stool, you should have no problem. If the gastritis continues however, you need to contact your pcp, and have this examined further. ...Read more

When I press really hard on my chest it hurts very deep inside like tender feeling. I really don't think its costochondritis. Could that be from damage to my esophagus?

No: I agree your description does not suggest costochondritis. Damage to the esophagus would be accompanied by or asociated with other symptoms. It is also important to know whether you have difficulty swallowing, how these symptoms began, or whether you had an acute episode of somiting etc. It is most important that you see your physician to discuss tis further. ...Read more

Can you swallow?: A pill or other object can scratch the esophagus and give you a feeling of something still being there. These symptoms generally slowly improve. If you can swallow liquids you're probably ok. If your symptoms are worsening you need to be seen, today. Some pills, like doxycycline, can burn the esophagus and make it quite inflamed. Call your doctor to see if you should stop the pill. ...Read more

My symptoms are, food is not passing through my esophagus easily, seems like it gets stuck midway my chest area. No nausea, but increasing discomft??

Blockage: It sounds like there is a blockage in your feeding tube or esophagus. The pain is from food getting stuck on the way to your stomach. I would recommend a liquid diet with yogurt, Ensure and water. A barium swallow x-ray would be helpful to find where food is getting stuck. As we get older, nerves may not work as well and irritation in esophagus can occur. If you are vomiting blood, go to ER. ...Read more
