Might be a clot,,,: This might be a clot in your leg vein from a swollen vein, like thrombophlebitis or from venous stasis. This is seen especially when someone stands for long periods without a sitting break. Also, your age and history of hypothyroidism might predispose to this. Broken blood vessel: Bruising in both areas may be from the same source of bleeding. Will likely resolve, but compartment syndrome is a concern, ie, swelling to the point that nerves are squeezed. Leg's are in: the line of a lot of local trauma. While easy bruising can mean either low platelets or low clotting factors, I've never seen that unless the person already had a diagnosis to support it (alcoholism, liver disease) and the bruises looked obviously abnormal (bloody). ...Read more

New problem: If the MRI was negative, that was a good thing unfortunately if two years have passed, you may have had further damage to the knee which may be causing further problems i would suggest an orthopedic exam and diagnostic studies based on the exam. ...Read more
