Bruise On My Calf Symptoms
Have a calf tear from a week ago. using a KneeRover. Can't walk and calf is still incredibly tender. Swelling has mostly subsided. I noticed ankle is now swelling since I been on feet all day. No other addt'l symptoms. Go to doc or stay off feet?
Achilles tear?: With a calf injury as you describe, worry about exact location. Higher up on leg suggests likely muscle injury and resulting hematoma. Mid-leg or distal pain in lower third of leg may suggest muscle-tendon or Achille's tendon injury that would warrant thorough evaluation by health care provider experienced in evaluating calf injuries. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What areMedial gastrocnemius Strain symptoms? Running yesterday, cramp inside right calf just below knee, feel pull when sleep and tender? Advice?
Pain medial calf: Sounds as very well could be medial gastroc strain. Symptoms generally self limited and should improve with time. For now recommend avoid provocative activities (running), gentle stretching as tol, anti-inflammatories, ice, etc. Would fully expect this to improve over a week or so. Unlikely to represent a tear which is extremely painful and associated with significant swelling. ...Read more

Post evlt 5 days. No expected symptoms. No bruising, no hard cord in my leg, problem spot still hurts. Does this mean it didn't work, or veins reopend?
Not Necessarily: It can take up to 6 weeks to get the appropriate response following evlt. Not everyone gets bruising or a hard cord in the leg following treatment, so that is not a problem that you did not. There is less than a 5% failure treatment rate after evlt, so the odds are that the treatment did work. I would always suggest an ultrasound within 1 week after treatment ; that should give you the answer. ...Read more

Probably not: ? What caused the bruise ? But most bruises hurt the blood in there causes some discomfort on it's own this should clear up pretty rapidly hot soaks help as does wrapping it with plastic wrap at bed time to increase the blood flow and speed the clearing of the hematoma. ...Read more
