I have been having lower back pain for months and it's getting worse. And i've started to notice that it looks somewhat bruised on my lower back.

Probable spondylosis: Likely arthritis is the culprit. Muscle spasm generally comes with it, and can cause some swelling and burning. The primary cause of bruising or scarring is from heating pad overuse, to try and relieve some of the pain. Best to have a doctor evaluate you for the best treatment modalities, which may include physical therapy, steroid injections, osteopathic or chiropractic adjustments, or other. ...Read more

Why?: Ok let's back up (no pun intended). Where did you get the pain pills? Who told you not to see a chiropractor? Listen to your doctors and go where they tell you. Why does my spine hurts when i touch it? The feeling is as if i had a giant bruise. It started in my lower back and now I have it on my upper back!

?Skin?: Your symptoms are not typical of anything but local trauma. For instance, if you do a lot of sit-ups or other activities in the face up/supine position, you can get bruises along your spinous processes (the tips of the vertebrae you can feel/see under the skin). Otherwise, it could be a skin problem or a muscle problem, as both lie between skin ; the bones themselves. See your pcp for and exam. ...Read more

Fell on ice a week ago. Still hurts on left lower back. Is that normal to take that long to heal? Tiny bruise visible

Could be a fracture: Many unexpected falls in ice can create tremendous force at impact. You may have a fracture to your pelvis, sacrum, or even the lower spine. Most of these injuries with an external compression from the side (lateral compression fractures) are inherently stable, so you could stand or walk with discomfort. This injury may take 6 weeks to 3 months to get better. Have an orthopedic surgeon check. ...Read more
