RICE: You can use ice and compression (mini Ace wrap) to reduce the swelling in the knuckle, but if it's been 5.5 weeks, you might have some chronic inflammation going on. If RICE therapy doesn't help, see a hand doc to make sure the ligaments are OK. Don't put your ring back on until the swelling has resolved because you might aggravate it.
