Most likely its the: Ends of a broken bone which probably are angulated at the break site or if the injury is 4-6 weeks old, it might be the healing bony tissue. The tendon will probably not cause a bump, unless its torn with rolled edges on it and that'll be either on the front or back of the knuckle, and not on its sides. ...Read more
Slipped on ice, landed on right elbow. Xrays showed no big break. Its bruised, swellings down. Elbows very sensitive. Hairline or just bruised bone?
Sounds like a bru --: Ised elbow, as the xrays were negative. Protect the elbow, for a 10-14 days and if its only a bruised, it'll get better. If not improving or getting worse, get a another xray as in some cases initial xray may not show a fx, which was present. So protecting it for 2 weeks and re-xraying it would be the way to go. Unlikely: Fat necrosis is one of the common causes of a nodule in the skin after trauma. Cancer usually does not develop within weeks, so that seems unlikely. Was it possible there was lump there before, and you only notice it now after the injury? Without an age, there are some other possibilities that could be seen: gout, arthritis, etc. ...Read more
