Is the front shin more prone to scarring? Banged shin, left bony knot on tibia. Doc took xrays and says it's subcutaneous scar. This common on shin?
Yes: The tibia( shin) bone has very little muscle coverage in the front and lower 2/3 of the bone. Contusions and secondary hematomas are quite common. Unlikely: Fat necrosis is one of the common causes of a nodule in the skin after trauma. Cancer usually does not develop within weeks, so that seems unlikely.
