DVT: or blood clots in veins is treated by blood thinners and compression. Continue normal activities. If leg is too tight you may need angiogram to evaluate the extent of clot. Consider Ultrasound: If you hit the steering wheel in a high-speed crash, and the hematoma is deep in the leg, there could be a prob with artery or stent. Risk greater if stent placed in past week or two. If hematoma is shallow, right under skin, and it was not a high impact injury, this is prob Plavix effect. Scary, but not dangerous.
