Had a heavy cold last week, no fever or real cough. Worst gone. Now have sore throat, producing brown/red phlegm, slight tiredness, shivers, no cough.

I have a sore throat, swollen glands, my ears hurt when I swallow and i am bringing up red/brown phlegm. What could it be?
Pneumonia?: This sounds like a standard respiratory viral infection that might have progressed to bronchitis or pneumonia. "Red/brown" suggest your sputum (phlegm from the bronchi or lungs) contains blood. See a doctor to be checked for bronchitis or pneumonia and possible need for an antibiotic prescription.
