Last night I noticed a brownish/orange discoloration on my fingernail beds. This morning I woke up and it was all over my hands and feet!

As we get older, swelling can develop even without trauma due to vein or circulatory problems. If only one foot, ? vein/lymph obstruction. Without pain/discoloration, infection unlikely. By "red discoloration" I assume you mean that there was blood under the nail.
As long as the base of the nail (the part farthest away from the tip) is not damaged, the nail will eventually grow back with the new new nail pushing out the old nail. The damaged part of the nail may fall off but should not be pulled off as it helps to protect the sensitive nail bed. ...Read more
