I had a c section 6 wks ago & have not been bleeding for about a week & a half now but I just now I had mushy brown discharge w/ a funky odor this normal?
Kind off, but!!!:
The best thing you do, is to talk to the GYN that did your surgery, to make sure.
if there is no fever you will be OK.
i will be concerned about infection in the uterus, so be careful, such infection, could be lethal, or you could end up losing your uterus.
i am not trying to scare you, or alarm you, but I want you to know, this situation could be serious.
so talk to your surgeon.
good luck. ...Read more

I'm a healthy 29y/o that had tubal immediately after 3rd c-section on 2/24/15. Am having brown discharge for two days and period isn't due for a week?
Periods after baby: Tubal ligations do not affect periods. Sometimes periods take a while to get back to normal the first few months after having a baby. This is especially true if you are breastfeeding. Consider tracking your cycles over the next few months to see if things normalize. If not then you can see you Obgyn. ...Read more

Possible: Is this the first time since the c-section that you've had discharge and cramping? Possibly, you are starting your first period if until now everything else has been ok. If in doubt, call your obgyn. You should have your 6 week post partum check anyway. ...Read more

Cesarean: This is hard to answer. Depends on your exam, symptoms, medical history, and the reason for your cesarean. You should discuss with your ob. I had csection 4months ago. Now brown discharge often coming in normal days. No smell or pain. Periods are normal. What is it.
Old blood: I worry that it could be retained parts of your placenta. Usually brown discharge is just old blood that is just now being expelled. It's possible, since you're having normal periods now, that it's just left over blood from your periods which isn't terribly unusual, but you might want to get checked out by your ob/gyn to be safe. ...Read more

I recently had a c-section and I am now experiencing brownish/bloody smelly discharge and also not feeling well do u know what this can be?
Possible: It is not unusual to bleed for several weeks after a c-section and the odor issue can be subjective. "feeling bad" is not very specific but I would suggest seeing your doc; it could be an infection of the uterus or even the great if you are breast feeding. It's uncommon to have a uterine infection after c-section remote from the procedure, check your temp but discharge and some bleeding not unus. ...Read more

Brownish bloody discharge from vagina? Does that have anything to do with c-section I had a year ago?
No: One year is too far removed to think it is due to your c. Section. Make sure you are getting pap smears. Sometimes a cervical ectropion can cause brown discharge (this is normal but a nuisance), and of course you need to make sure your uterus is ok. If the discharge goes on, see your doctor. ...Read more

I had a hysterectomy (still have 1 ovary and cervix) after a c-section 1 year ago. Recently after sex I have noticed a brownish discharge. What is th?
Brownish discharge is a small amount of old blood. So something bled a little and then comes out with intercourse.
If this happens monthly, this could be a small period from a small amount of endomterium (lining of the uterus) left behind after your hysterectomy.
If this happens randomly could be an infection or something with the cervix like a polyp or dysplasia. ...Read more

Gynecologist: Lochia, the discharge after delivery, lasts shorter after a c/section than after a vaginal delivery, typically not much more than 3 weeks, and it will not turn green (ish). Menses after delivery will resume after about 6 - 8 weeks. Breastfeeding women instead of menses may experience irregular spotting, but not greenish.
