Since my eyes are very hooded otherwise. How is botox brow lift (a.K.A. Chemical browlift) and how are the results?
Not effective: A botox brow lift is used to target the lateral aspect of the brow. This will have minimal effect on excess hooding which could be a combination of excess eyelid skin (dermatochalasis) and a low brow. If this is the case, then frequently people compensate unknowingly by keeping the brow elevated. In this scenario a brow lift is needed initially plus or minus a blepharoplasty afterwards.See 2 more doctor answers

What is involved in a brow lift? What kind of procedure is required for a brow lift? Is there scarring?
Brow lift: There are several types of brow lifts. The most common are a coronal brow lift and endoscopic brow lift. The coronal is utilized for more severe brow droop, while the endoscopic is more commonly performed in mild/moderate brow ptosis. Coronal leaves a scar in hair extending from ear to ear, the endoscopic leaves 3-5 small 2 cm incisions in scalp.See 2 more doctor answers

Will I have a lot of pain after a brow lift? Will I need strong pain medication to control the pain from a brow lift? I don't like taking pills..
Hi,: Hi, I use a mild narcotic pain medication generally and this satisfies most patients needs. Most patients experience a band like headache and it is relieved by head elevation and cool moist cloths placed over the forehead and eyes.... Very rarely a patient will need more attention and I usually adjust on a case by case basis. Hope this helps.See 2 more doctor answers
How noticeable are the scars from a brow lift? As much as i'd like to have a brow lift, I don't want it to be obvious from the scars..
Find a good surgeon!: Hello! Scars from a browlift should be difficult/impossible to find with any approach but depend on your tendency to scar and the skill of the surgeon. Make sure you look at before/after photos and ask about hair loss, wide scars and need for patients to undergo scar revision. Good luck!See 2 more doctor answers

Is a brow lift ever covered by insurance? I can't afford a brow lift right now. Are there any circumstances where it would be covered by insurance? .
Small hairline shift: Endoscopic brow lift minimally shifts the hairline. If you want the hairline lowered with a brow lift it is possible with a pretrichial lift with an incision at the hairline. It leaves a longer scar than with an endoscopic lift and has a higher risk of long term scalp numbness.See 3 more doctor answers

Does a brow lift ever cause permanent numbness? I understand temporary numbness is a possible side effect from a brow lift. Is the numbness ever permanent? .
To: To create permanent numbness one would have to injure either the supratrochlear (medially-located) or supraorbital (more laterally-located) nerves by inadvertant transection or cautery injury. This would be an error in technique application and should be extremely rare in experienced hands.See 4 more doctor answers
Are there serious risks associated with brow lift surgery? I'm worried there could be bad side effects that could leave me looking worse after my brow lift than before..
There: There are multiple risks with any surgery involving anesthesia, but for the brow lift surgery itself there are the risks of infection, bleeding, nerve injury (sensory and/or motion), asymmetry, scar formation, need for additional procedures, CSF leak (depending on technique used) as well as poor aesthetic outcome. Simply stated, it is important to have a complete review of your goals, how those goals will be achieved and the expertise of your surgeon. Be healthy and be well, james m. Can a brow lift permanently damage nerves so I wouldn't be able to lift my brows? I'd like to have a brow lift, but not if I'm going to risk losing to ability to have normal facial expressions..
The: The nerve that supplies the muscles thet elevate the eyebrows is a branch of a very important nerve called the facial nerve. The branches to the eyebrows travel from the area of the ear up toward the forehead. They can be injured during facelift or browlift surgery. Both are rare occurrences. If it occurs, the vast majority results in temporary weakness, and very rarely it can be permanent. On the other hand, many brow lift techniques intentionally lessen the muscle effect of the frown muscles which minimizes the "11" lines and therefore certain less desirable facial expressions can be affected positively.See 3 more doctor answers
