Bronchitis No Cough Symptoms
Asthma or bronchitis? Symptoms are coughing with no mucus, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, gasping for air. Took albuteral and it works.
The cough reflex is a protective mechanism that uses muscles in your throat and chest to expel mucous and saliva that may contain pathogens that would otherwise possibly be inhaled via aerosol or to expel pathogens infecting the throat and respiratory system. Cough benefits the host by reducing load and benefits the pathogen which may then spread via aerosol. ...Read more
I was diagnosed with accute bronchitis 7 days before. All other symptoms are gone by now but my cough is still here! Is it normal?
Reactive airways: Once your airways are inflamed by a viral illness, they may not settle down easily. I wonder if you've been diagnosed with asthma - or if any close relatives have that? If that's the case, you probably have some residual inflammation in the airways that is causing the cough. Albuterol might help. If it's bad a steroid inhaler like fluticasone would be needed. Talk to your doc about getting one.
Hi! I started yesterday with a deep wet cough, no other symptoms. Not a smoker, never had bronchitis-- but never had such a deep cough like this befor?
Time to see your MD: If you are experiencing symptom for the first time, however it may very well be mild viral respiratory infection as it seems that you are otherwise fine, but better be checked out. Meanwhile, drink more fluids, OTC wet cough medicines would help, especially those with guafenisen, follow instructions written, best wishes
I was diagnosed with bronchitis and besides the cough I have a heavy feeling in my chest. Like it is tight. Is it a normal symptom of bronchitis?

Can bronchitis make me lose my voice? My bf has bronchitis and I am losing my voice but not experiencing any other symptoms other than a small cough.
Check temperature: I agree that most likely you do not have bacterial pneumonia which some patients develop following a viral infection. Viruses may cause damage to the lining of the airway. In the meantime, a humidifier and staying well hydrated, while recovering are suggested. If you have problems breathing and/or fever, please see your physician. If the cough lasts longer than 3 weeks, follow up is advised.See 2 more doctor answers
It seems like I have a cold, but the symptoms are in my chest only. I don't have a cough and I'm not wheezing. Could I still have bronchitis?
Does the beginning symptoms of acute bronchitis include burning dry cough and intermittent wheezing?
I have bronchitis symptoms no headache or body ache or fever. Only feel the absolute need to cough maybe 20 times per day. Started 3 days ago.
URI: Cough can be the main symptoms of a cold or upper respiratory infection. Are you short of breath? If not, then you can manage your symptoms at home with OTC meds like Dayquil and Nyquil. In a non-smoker these symptoms will resolve on their own within 7-10 days. Antibiotics do not treat viral infections.See 1 more doctor answer
Female, age 70, has the third severe bronchitis like symptom in a year, each lasting more than 3 weeks. Albuterol inhaler causes more cough. Cause?
Is it possible to just wake up with bronchitis one day? My son woke up with a cough 2 days ago. No other symptoms until yesterday. Runny nose now too.
Likely virus: Many youngsters get respiratory viruses suddenly. They are well and then suddenly start to cough. "bronchtis" is the term usually used for a wet cough. Fever and runny nose can also come with the cough. It should be done in 3 - 5 days. If he gets a lot worse or it lasts longer, call your doctor. Keep fluids going and be generous with tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen to make him more comfortable.
Diagnosed with bronchitis, Have all the symptoms chest pains, mucus but no cough. Could it be something else? Blood clot?
3 weeks ago I had a terrible cough, pain/burn in chest etc; minor bronchitis (z-pac and predisone). I have these symptoms again, is it something else?
Wheezing, cough, short breath, COPD symptoms... 21 yr old male, nonsmoker. Has been diagnosed as severe bronchitis/pneumonia before. Symptoms back now?
My 2 year old just had a chest xray and was diagnosed with bronchitis. He has no cough or other symptoms other than high fever. Does this make sense?
Easy over read: Radiologists often make a suggested diagnosis based on assumptions. You only order chest xrays if you suspect a chest finding. If the xray is taken before the kid takes a deep breath, it will look like bronchitis. The suggested label from the radiologist is just that, a suggestion, they also say this needs to have clinical correlation. The doc may have just used the label to finish the visit
I have symptoms of a flu, I had a fever it stopped....Have a terrible bronchitis like cough headache and this morning terrible terrible nose bleed?
Get to your doctor: If nose bleed is profuse needs to go to er. It sounds like you have a flu or viral infection which usually is self limiting. If symptoms do not get better, may be in three days, seek help.
Do I have acute bronchitis? I have been experiencing a dry cough (little mucus coming up, which is light green), soreness of chest due to coughing (sometime lower abdomen, also associated with coughing). I also been in and out of a fever. Smyptoms have last
You: You could very well have bronchitis based on your symptoms, however you will need to be evaluated by a medical professional to be sure. A basic auscultation of your lungs with a stethoscope may be all that is necessary to make the diagnosis. Additional testing may be done if deemed necessary (x-ray, sputum culture). Bronchitis can be viral or bacterial; most commonly viral, which usually resolves on it's own by one to two weeks. Good luck.
I've had a severe cough for 5 days. Chest pain andbody aches. No nasal congestion. Symptoms getting worse. Could I have bronchitis or walking pneumonia?
Possibly BOTH: You must be examined and if needed, get a chest xray. DO NOT IGNORE THESE SYMPTOMS!! - GO DIRECTLY TO THE ER OR UC CLINIC
Common cold or bronchitis? Symptoms: Tired, Lime color mucous, raspy cough, no tight chest, wheezing/gurgling before cough, headache, body ache. Thanx
Possible Bronchitis: It is difficult to say without examination. But it is more likely you are having Bronchitis as you are wheezing And it seems like a viral infection causing your Bronchitis. I advice you drink plenty fluids and consult your Doctor, get checked and treated appropriately. Do not smoke or be around some one who smokes It can also turn into Pneumonia sometimes
