It depends.: Mucolytic agents are common medications for bronchitis. They work by breaking up mucus in the airway, to try making it easier to breathe. It is important to discuss this treatment approach with your doctor to make sure it is the best option for treating your symptoms. ...Read more
Was taking antibiotics for bronchitis had diaherria for3 days I fainted but also rember shaking uncontrollably was that a seizure?
Seizure: Less likely a seizure since you remember the event. Seizures of tonic/clonic (shaking) generally cause loss of consciousness. Would favor rigors if actively being treated for infection with an antibiotic. There are some epileptiform reactions that do not cause loss of consciousness, however, and would require consultation with a neurologist if they occur more than once. ...Read more

Not recommended: Colds are almost always caused by viruses. They are self limited and do not respond to antibacterial antibiotics which should never be used. Bronchitis is likewise usually a viral infection and should not be treated with antibiotics unless severe or prolonged. If bronchitis needed antibiotic treatment Clindamycin would not be a good choice. Ceftin, (cefuroxime) vantin, zithromax or Augmentin would be better. ...Read more

Hard to tell: Some cases are viral & contagious during the early febrile phase but less so as it progresses. Some will represent a mycoplasma germ that is contagious & often affects groups. Most that have a simple bacterial bronchitis do so from normal airway germs that settle in after a virus, these are not contagious. My routine is to consider them contagious until fever free 24h or on med 24h. ...Read more
