Probably OK : Unless you have a prior history of significant ear issues (prior ear tubes, etc.), it is likely that you do not have an ear infection. If your tonsils are pretty bad and inflamed, you probably have pain radiating from there to the ears rather than an actual ear infection. Antibiotics help: to improve the sinus infection, but it does not do much to clear the fluid behind your ear or the mucus/ phlegm built up in the sinuses. Those your body gets rid of on its own... and often taking its time doing so. Sudafed if no HBP: Sudafed is a great decongestant and helps with ear pain. You need to ask the pharmacist because it is kept behing the counter. If you have high blood pressure, do not take sudafed.
