How quickly depends on whether the bromocriptine dose is right to normalize prolactin right off, or if the dose needs to be titrated up. If you are not having regular cycles and the medicine cannot control them, you would need something else to help you ovulate. The only role for Parlodel (bromocriptine) in a hOrmone (not hArmone) problem is to treat hyperprolactinemia due to a pituitary prolactinoma. Did you present with breast milk & no period? Your doctor should explain this to you. It's your doc's JOB! A related drug that is generally better than bromocriptine is cabergoline; ask your doc about it. ...Read more
