Go to A&E now: Sounds like you're in the UK, so go to your closest A&E as soon as possible. Given your description, you really need to get a thorough examination to make sure there's no hidden damage, such as bleeding inside your brain. One other thing: given the frequency of child abuse & domestic/partner violence, if you are a victim, please tell the authorities who can help get you out of that situation. ...Read more

I believe it is: quite reassuring that the injury isn't too serious if you have no pain or bruising. I wouldn't worry about the swelling, which is the result of tissue inflammation and destruction, unless it continues to grow or function is significantly impaired: nasal obstruction impairing breathing, throat obstruction, etc. If you don't have pain, I wouldn't take ibuprofen just for swelling. Icing might help. ...Read more

I sufferd a black eye on christmas, a few days later some blood started to apear in my mucus when i blow my nose, will this go away with time?

See your doctor: the black eye is generally due to superficial skin and under the skin bleeding related to an injury. However the bloody mucus suggests you may have sustained some trauma to the nasal cavity and/ sinuses. You should get it checked out. Please be careful with how you sustained the initial injury! Best wishes to you! ...Read more

How long for my 4-5 day old black eye to no longer be swollen... and side of my nose.

Can take 7-10 days: The length of time for swelling depends on the nature and severity of the trauma. Significant force can result in swelling that takes 10 days or longer to resolve. If the swelling and discomfort remains, a physician should examine the areas to look for possible nasal fractures or orbital fractures...an X-ray would be needed to evaluate these possibilities. ...Read more

Got hit in my face 3-4 days ago. Now have black eye. Bleed a bit from the nose then stop. Now see mucus/salive with small blood through mouth split.Er?

Nose or eye: There could be two reasons for this finding. First is that the trauma that you sustained could have also caused damage to the inner lying tissues of the nose or it can be due to the fact that the nasolacrimal duct which drains tears from our eye is draining blood from the eye. Either way you must see an ophthalmologist to get thoroughly examined. ...Read more

A black eye from hit. Bleed a bit from nose then stop. eye has small red on the white back on the side. mucus/saliva with small blood in mouth Spit.er?

Need an eye exam. : It's prudent that you get examined by an ophthalmologist as soon as possible. The small red spot that you are describing sounds like a sub conjunctival hemorrhage which is due to a blood vessel that was damaged under the white membrane of the eye. In itself it's not dangerous but trauma to the eye may be associated with glaucoma, retinal tear, blood in the anterior chamber known as hyphema, etc. ...Read more
