My dear doctor,
please advise. Is it good to avoid my son (10 yrs old) ear surgery, as doctor told me to go for surgey due to ear drum broken. ?
How long broken?: The answer to this question really has to take into account how long the ear drum has been perforated. If this happened recently, or if your child had tubes and they just recently fell out, the ear drum may very well heal spontaneously. How did you find out: That someone has a "blue eardrum"? If a physician told you, you should ask that physician what the diagnosis is. The 1st thing that comes to mind is blood behind the eardrum. If that's the case this needs to be evaluated immediately. If not, has someone been using ear drops? Blue shampoo? Blue markers, food dye or nystatin drops?
