Broken 4th Toe
I've probly just broken my 4th toe, it's pointing slightly sideways. Is it safe to just buddy-tape it or I need to see a doctor? I don't want an xray.
Tough Break.: Well if you don't want to have an x-ray, the seriousness of the apparent fracture can only be guessed. You certainly can reduce the fracture deformity yourself by first pulling outward and then aligning it straight. If the toe remains relatively straight, then begin the taping procedure. If you are a little weak kneeded about it, then it would be best to see a specialist. Apply ice for swelling.
It may not be...: Just the toe, but the whole metatarsal (or ray) complex. Yes, there is a procedure to lengthen this. Talk to a qualified podiatrist to discuss risks and options.See 1 more doctor answer
So since it has been 6 weeks since I broke my 4th toe how much longer will it take for it to look starlight instead of it kinda crooked leaning left?
Yes: A hammer toe repair is actually a toe shortening procedure.
What to do if I have brachymetatarsia in my 4th toe, and I believe that toe is now broken, is that possible, what should ido?
Consult a Podiatrist: See a podiatrist and have x-rays to see if the toe is broken and to discuss treatment options for the brachymetatarsia.
I HAD A CORN ON MY FOURTH TOE REMOVED (HAMMER TOE) 3 MONTHS AGO. MY TOE IS DARK AROUND THAT AREA IS THAT NORMAL? WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Hyperpigmented: Or darker skin is normal under a corn. As long as the hard skin and pain are not present, it's fine.
I hurt my 4th toe at the end of January doing a dance kick. I ended up kicking the edge of the wooden door frame really hard. What should I do?
Toe: This happened almost 8 months ago. If you have no symptoms then do nothing. If you have symptoms - depending on what they are I would suggest an X-Ray firt.
I feel like im stepping on my nerves under my 4th toe. Usually I feel it while walking and suffer. It vanishes automatically and recurs very often.
Nerve pressure: I would like to know if the numbness is on one side of the toe or the other. It is over the top or tip of your toe? More than likely it is pressure on the nerves that run up the side of your toe from the other toe. Try separating the two toes with something soft like a cotton ball and see if the numbness resolves. If the toe is red or swollen have it checked out ny a Podiatrist.
Possibly...: Sounds like may be fungal - if not better with trial of otc tinactin, (tolnaftate) see a physician. Other possibility may be contact dermatitis from walking barefoot into something like poison ivy. Numbness could also be result of swelling or nerve irritation from virus. Painful? Itchy?See 1 more doctor answer
Podiatry: This may be a good time for podiatric evaluation. Sorry, can't assess this adequately online.See 1 more doctor answer
I've noticed on both of my feet that my 4th toe is trying to go under my 3rd toe. Is this normal?
Not normal: I would suggest seeing a good podiatrist to evaluate why tour toes are crossing
I stubbed my 4th toe 8 hours ago and the pain is no better. I can't bend it or walk on it, it's turning black and is swollen. Should I get it checked?
Yes: If you injured your foot/toe 8hrs ago and still can't walk on it as it turns black & swells up, then yes, you should get it checked out. In the meantime, apply ice in an attempt to keep swelling down and minimize inflammation.

Hi there, my pinky toe bends inwards and under my 4th toe, this sometimes cause me a lot of pain, is this normal? Thanks
Underlapping 5th toe: Unfortunatelky this is not normal, although many perople inherit this condition from parents/grandparents. It is called an underlapping 5th toe. It occurs due to rotation of the toe from your gait. When your foot hits the ground and causes the toe to contract, it begins to underap the 4th digit. Sometimes you can tape the toe, or use a toe sleeve to stop the irritation or callus formation.See 4 more doctor answers
