Benign polyp?: A rubbery growth could be a cancer but could also be a benign polyp that has not become a cancer yet. My 2 yo had a small amount of bright red mucus in stool. It's only a dot or two strictly in the mucus. He has a cold, i've been taking rectals. Worry?
Not too concerning: There are several causes of bright red color in the stool. He may have a small irritation of the anus due to hard stools, more frequent stools, or the rectal temperature assessments. Apply a small amount of vaseline or a;d ointment to help the area heal.
