There are many possibilities here, but comprehensive lab work and endoscopic testing will clarify your diagnosis & needed treatment. Sounds ok but..: if stools red , bloody see gastroenterologist, if heart feels like what you said see cardiologist they can do the right tests, don't worry sounds not serious,especially if all labs including cbc,cmp,tsh, normal[complete blood count, comprehensive metabolic panel,thyroid stimulating hormone, vitamin d level[25[oh]D] , serum iron level . good lifestyle is all u can do, never smoke, mild alcohol.walk ...Read more

Not too concerning: There are several causes of bright red color in the stool. He may have a small irritation of the anus due to hard stools, more frequent stools, or the rectal temperature assessments. Apply a small amount of vaseline or a;d ointment to help the area heal. Bright red food colors can also show up in the stool (gatorade, koolaid), so you may want to avoid those for now. If it worsens, see you doctor. ...Read more
