A dietary supplement, also known as food supplement or nutritional supplement, is a preparation intended to supplement the diet and provide nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, fiber, fatty acids, or amino acids, that may be missing or may not be consumed in sufficient quantities in a person's diet. Some countries define dietary supplements as foods, while ...Read more
Is it safe to take a multivitamin, probiotic, fish oil omega-3 supplement, apple cider vinegar, and psyllium husk for fiber together daily?
Yes: These are safe though I wouldn't take them all at once. I advise the multivitamin after breakfast, the probiotic at the start of a meal, the fish oil after lunch or dinner, apple cider vinegar in water separate from meals and the psyllium at bedtime. Some multivitamins are far better than others- see https://drrandybaker.com/2012/11/ and https://www.multivitaminguide.org/best-multivitamin.html ...Read more
Absolutely not: In fact, it is not at all certain that there is any benefit from fish oil for anything. In USA it has been abandoned as useless by the best-informed experts. It has also been noted to cause prostate cancer. It is true that it lowers triglycerides and raises HDL but it has not lowered the risk for strokes or heart attacks. No benefit has been demonstrated except to those who sell it. ...Read more
Me= yeast infection for 3 mos. Tried creams, boric acid, Candida diet, probiotics, garlic, etc. Taking iron pills 4 anemia- could that be feeding it?
Yeast infection: You do not say whether you have used anti-fungals in your treatment, either topically or orally. That is the best way to treat Candida vulvovaginitis. Iron is highly unlikely to have anything to do with this. If you persist despite this you may be being reinfected by your sexual partner and they could be treated as well. If still an issue make sure your immune system is intact. Good luck. ...Read more
Some are, some not: Vitamins tend to be mostly vegetarian, but some contain animal-derived products, especially vitamin a which may come from fish oil. Also, some vitamins are in gelatin-based gel-caps. Read the ingredients and avoid gel-caps. A quality multivitamin will usually state on the label if it is appropriate for vegetarians. ...Read more

Including essential Amino acids supplement (BCAA) would affect gout?
Is Whey Protein supplements & glutamine supplement safe for gout users?
None will effect gou: Gout is related to URIC ACID and PURINES, not amino acids or protein supplements. BUT, since everything you mention is a complete waste of money, why bother to ask? There are meds used to control gout in different ways. Low dose aspirin and thiazide diuretics tend to raise uric acid levels. Alcohol, especially in large amounts, often causes attacks. Low purine diets are slightly effective. ...Read more

Vitamins Supplements: Nope. I know of no physician who would just randomly put you on or recommend any vitamin or other supplements at age 23. Eating a good and balanced diet, getting sleep on a regular basis, avoiding alcohol and cigarettes and living an active lifestyle are the best things for health. ...Read more
What probiotic is good for candida yeast gnc 50 ultra 50 probiotic complex or gnc multi strain probiotic conplex 10 billion cfus ? Plz suggest me thx.
Probably won't help: No probiotic is likely to be effective in treating a yeast infection. If that's what you have, you need treatment with a proper anti-yeast antibiotic. However, if you're talking about "systemic" candidasis, it's an urban myth; there is no such thing, and no treatment makes any difference. Discuss with a scientifically trained physician. Good luck! ...Read more
Ginkgo biloba, calcium, magnesium, zinc, vitamin d3, biotin, folic acid, and fish oil, are these good to take?
Could you take prenatal vitamins that contain biotin, choline, inositol, and fumaric acid name of vitamin brand nordic berries?
I do not: Like the formula. They contain 9 grams of carbohydrate and the amount of thiamin (as are the doses of all the vitamins) is too low to metabolize that amount of carb. You can look it up on line. This expresses an incredible ignorance of industry in vitamins and foods. In pregnancy, first you need a pristine diet and the vitamin supplementation should be ordered by your ob/gyn. ...Read more
