Breo Reviews On Weight Lost
What % of people taking qsymia (phentermine and topiramate) lost >15 pounds in the first 3 months? What was the overall average pounds lost by each person on the qsymia (phentermine and topiramate) study?
Complicated answer: There were 3 trials involving Qsymia (phentermine and topiramate) and depending on how the authors analyzed the data, the degree of weight loss was different. In the equip study, one analysis showed a 5% weight loss at 52 weeks on the lower dose of qsymia (phentermine and topiramate). But this was in severely obese people (bmi>35) so the effects may not be applicable to lower bmi people. Talk with your doc about risks/benefits, and if right for you. ...Read more

Optimize sleep Rx: Zyprexa (olanzapine) does increase appetite (and so do most other neuroleptics by antagonizing the Dopamine in your brain) A dietitian may not be able to help; consider optimizing your sleep Rx. If Zyprexa (olanzapine) happens to be the only reasonable choice, at least stay away from all products containing fructose (like high fructose corn syrup), and limit your carbohydrates intake. ...Read more

There is an over the counter lower dose version of orlistat called alli. That's it. We need more pills for weight loss but they should be used as adjunct (in addition) to the main treatment: diet and exercise. ...Read more

Question your meds: Why are you taking Zyprexa and Geodon (ziprasidone)? Both are antipsychotic meds used for severe psychiatric disorders. Discuss with prescribing doc. If you don't have severe (one step away from being hospitalized) symptoms or problems with reality testing, you may do better getting off these meds. Consider other meds for mood swings and/or insomnia less likely to cause weight gain. I hope this helps. ...Read more
