Have it evaluated.: Pain may last a long time following a foot or ankle injury. An x-ray can show if there is an underlying fracture. You may have a soft tissue injury if it is just a sprain and may have damaged the muscle, tendon, or ligaments in the area. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment. How helpful is brace: If the brace is the source of the calf pain, but helps the knee, then an adjustment to the brace (size, fit, etc.) could be considered. Alternatively, a new brace could be utilized. Personally, I don't routinely use braces for meniscal tears unless there is a ligament tear as well or associated arthritis with a misaligned knee. Seek additional help if the brace is not the cause of the calf pain. ...Read more

Depends: Your need for surgery will depend on the stability and/or damage under your knee cap. If this is your first patella dislocation vs the latest ofmor, that could change things as well. A patient without an acl can still injury the meniscus and cartilage while wearing a brace. If MR torn ligaments: & x-rays show some spread of the tib/fib & widening of the ankle mortise, i would say surgery. Doing it now has a much better outcome than if down the road U need a reconstruction. B sure U C a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon,who practices foot & ankle. ...Read more
