Breasts Run Mine Breast Reduction
Depends: If the nipple was inverted before the procedure then breast reduction alone will not correct that. If it wasn't beforehand, there may be some traction/tension on the deeper tissues that are pulling the nipple into the breast mound. If its early after surgery, swelling of the surrounding tissue can give the appearance of inversion. Go back and talk to your surgeon and let him/her evaluate you. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Size matters!: A breast lift tightens the skin on the breast, lifting the breast mound and nipple. It does not change the volume of the breast. A breast reduction is very similar; however, during a breast reduction surgery, breast tissue is removed to reduce the size of the breasts. When the breasts are too small, a breast lift is combined with breast augmentation to increase the size of the breasts. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
No easy answer: Not sure what you mean by "firm up". Breast reduction is usually a very satisfying surgery for women that have long been bothered by disproportionately large, heavy and hanging breasts. It can be difficult to maintain fullness in the upper breast. Occasionally breast implants are indicated either at the same time or later. Restoring some of the lost volume may help. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Yes, Depends on you.: If you are asking if your cup size will be larger, the answer is usually yes. Having said that, there is no standardization of bras. Also women often wear the wrong size bra. We have also seen after lifts and augmentation that the breast now look great, (with good upper pole fullness and the nipples in the right place), the bra itself now fits as it should. ...Read moreSee 6 more doctor answers

Due to childbirth & nursing, my breast size is now 38dd w marked ptosis. Would breast reduction or augmentation be appropriate for much needed "lift"?
When to lift: In cosmetic breast surgery, we evaluate the size of the breasts as they match the patient's desire, the quality and fullness of the skin envelope, and the nipple position. Breast reduction will reduce the breast size, reshape the envelope and reposition the nipple. Breast lift will tighten the envelope and raise the nipple. Lift with augmentation is generally used to enlarge and raise the breast. ...Read moreSee 5 more doctor answers
What if my breasts are asymmetrical after breast reduction? If i end up with asymmetrical breasts or nipples after breast reduction, can it be fixed?
I : I am always careful to point out to all of my patients that natural asymmetries exist in every woman's breasts. Your surgeon's goal is to achieve the very best symmetry possible, but there will likely be some degree of asymmetry present after surgery as well. Early after surgery, asymmetry may be the result of post-procedural swelling, and i advise waiting for several months before making a final judgement regarding the appearance and symmetry of your breasts. If an unacceptable degree of asymmetry persists, minor revisional procedures can certainly be performed to improve your cosmetic outcome. Some revisional procedures may be covered by your medical insurance. All the best, dr. Skourtis. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
