Is there a difference between breast tenderness during menstruation and breast tenderness during pregnancy?
Possibly: If the piercing hits into the ducts, milk flow could be affected. Production should not be a problem, but you may be more prone to mastitis and/or have some minor problems with let down of the milk. That being said, I have known many women to breast feed without any problems who had history of nipple piercing, so I wouldn't rule it out just based on that. ...Read more

Breastfeeding. I've had a sharp pain in one breast for a few days. Stays in the same spot. Doesn't feel engorged. Between and during feeding. Concern?
A few things...: It could be a clogged duct - try soaking the area with warm compresses and massaging the area. Shooting pain can also possibly related to yeast. If the nipple is red and also hurting those are more signs of yeast. Can also look to see if baby has signs of thrush (yeast in baby's mouth) which would be a whitish coating on tongue. Pain can also be from a latch problem on one side. See doctor. ...Read more
