Breastfeeding Lump In Armpit Sore
I have a lump in right arm pit and havea bit of trouble breastfeeding on that side, plugged duct, and soreness. Could the lump be related?
Yes : A plugged duct can be the trigger for mastitis which is an infectious process. It can start slow but can progress to fever and general symptoms almost like the flu, in addition to breast soreness and redness. The armpit is full of lymph nodes which will swell if there is an infection. Mastitis requires antibiotic treatment. An exam can determine if that is developing and if the two are related. ...Read more
