Breastfeeding Lump In Armpit Sore
I have a lump in right arm pit and havea bit of trouble breastfeeding on that side, plugged duct, and soreness. Could the lump be related?
Yes : A plugged duct can be the trigger for mastitis which is an infectious process. It can start slow but can progress to fever and general symptoms almost like the flu, in addition to breast soreness and redness. The armpit is full of lymph nodes which will swell if there is an infection. Mastitis requires antibiotic treatment. An exam can determine if that is developing and if the two are related. ...Read more

Also I'm breastfeeding, but my nipples are cracking and very sore and around the nipples the skin is dead and peels off.
Two issues: Cracked nipples are very common for breastfeeding women. There are many over the counter creams and ointments for this. Head to your local pharmacy and you will find one that works for you. The lump should be examined by your doctor. It may be a clogged milk duct since your are breastfeeding. An exam is needed to confirm ...Read more

Doc last feb 2014 I stop breastfeeding and i have a tender lump with pus near my left nipple it start last year then now it hurts what is it doc?
I am currently 2 weeks postpartum, I did not breast feed...woke up this morning with a tender hard immovable lump in breast. What can this be?
Sore armpit: If that persists and if you are worried- go to see your gp to have a good exam. It could be from different causes- including -muskuloskeletal pain, or perhaps inflammation from the sweat glands- then causing reactive lymph node irritation that is located deep inside, vs other inflammation etc. Since you are 57 years old-if you have not updated your mammogram this year-then you should get one. ...Read more
Lymph node: More than likely you have an acute infection somewhere on the upper extremity that is seeding a lymph node in your arm pit. The lymph node filters the bacteria, virus or fungus and then reacts as "killer cells" come to attack the agent. The lymph node responds by growing, producing more cells, and can get tender due to the agents and chemicals released. You may need antibiotics or see pcp. ...Read more
