Mastitis: It could be mastitis. I would continue breastfeeding and seek evaluation with a physician. If it is an early mastitis, antibiotics will likely be needed. ...Read more

Mastitis: Sounds like it could be mastitis (infection of a milk gland). Contact your doctor to help with possibly antibiotics. Also use warm compresses and showers. Let ome o the milk run out. ...Read more

Yes : A plugged duct can be the trigger for mastitis which is an infectious process. It can start slow but can progress to fever and general symptoms almost like the flu, in addition to breast soreness and redness. The armpit is full of lymph nodes which will swell if there is an infection. Mastitis requires antibiotic treatment. An exam can determine if that is developing and if the two are related. ...Read more

Infection: It sounds like there is definitely and abscess or infection near to your nipple. Please have it evaluated and treated with antibiotics. Also, for now warm compresses to the area and bacitracin /neosporin applied. ...Read more

Be examined: It may be a blocked milk duct but impossible to diagnose without an exam. See your doctor for an exam and consider an US. If it is red warm and tender it may be an area of infection. Try a cool pack and Tylenol (acetaminophen) for relief. All the best. ...Read more

Lymph node: More than likely you have an acute infection somewhere on the upper extremity that is seeding a lymph node in your arm pit. The lymph node filters the bacteria, virus or fungus and then reacts as "killer cells" come to attack the agent.
