Hi, is it ok to take Effexor XR while breastfeeding to help with anxiety? My son is 10 months old & still has 5-6feeds per day plus solids.

Not a good idea: Lots of medicine that you ingest get into breast milk. It might be wise to call the physician who prescribed them and have him/her advise you how to taper off these medication if he/she thinks it wise. ...Read more
Meds while pregnant : Several antidepressant have been studied in pregnancy and were thought to be generally safe. However they can still can effect the baby. But there is growing evidence that untreated depression has risks of its own.
