Breastfeeding Adult Child
No clear answer: When the mother & child find it mutually agreeable is the time to stop. It doesn't have to be all stop at once, some kids will just nurse once or twice a day. Obviously if mom's milk is gone then it has to stop. Look up some of the reasearch by kathryn dettweler about the "natural age of weaning" read full details on her website but from her research she gets an answer between 2.5 - 7 yrs.See 1 more doctor answer

Highly seasoned: One should avaid highly seasoned food, caffeinated drinks, alcohol and foods generally not healthy for the mom or babe. Avaoid raw seafood and anything that could transfer any infectious agent to the mom or babe, .
Enough calories: A good variety is important, including some omega 3 fats (fish, nuts, olive oil), proteins and plenty of fluids. You should also take a multivitamin so you don't rob your body of calcium, iron and make yourself anemic or soft boned. The most important things are enough fluids to keep your milk supply flowing and enough calories to make the milk rich for optimal growth.
You can do it!: Just remember women have been breastfeeding for millions of years! You want to get the tip of your nipple in the back of the baby's mouth, so he can compress your milk ducts adequately. Make sure he opens wide before you bring him in to the breast. A slight pinch at the beginning of feeding is ok, if a feeding is persistently painful stop and reposition. Get help with a lactation specialist

How extensive?: Details matter. See a dermatologist. There is increased risk of other autoimmune disorders, especially Hashimoto thyroiditis. Easiest approach is to relax and prepare to explain to others that it is not contagious nor due to anything you can control. You can use fake tan to darken the pale areas.

Use alternate: The answer really depends on what type of sore your have and where. Just to be on the safe side, consider nursing only on the unaffected breast. Pumping or manually expressing breast milk from the side of concern will help to prevent lactation issues. When healed, resuming feeds on both breasts should be fine.

Many do: The superiority of BM over alternatives begins to wain around 8m.If baby #1 begins to make quick work of feeds and you have to catch him to do a feed, you might transition him. And have a simple break to prepare for #2.Newborn milk differs from later feed so the body can make the change. Yet many feed right up to delivery and beyond. I plan to breastfeed for few more weeks till my child turns one but ate some fish that might be high in mercury. Should I stop breastfeeding now?
It depends.: Breast feeding your child until the 1st birthday is in general good. If I were you, I would call your state health department and ask this question. If the mercury level in fish is very high potentially to cause long term organ damage, then you should stop eating fish whether breast feeding or not.
I am breastfeeding my fourth child and I keep getting mastitis. I have breastfed all of my children and never had this before. What is causing this?
I do not know: That is unfortunate for you. At times, we can never tell why things happen. We can do all in our power to try and prevent it though. Make sure your breasts and nipples stay clean as does your infants mouth, and that will decrease any issues. If you pump, make sure the pump is cleaned regularly. And don't let your breasts get too engorged so pumping may actually be required. Best wishes.
