I : I typically instruct my patients who have had breast reduction to avoid heavy lifting greater than 15 lbs for a period of 4-6 weeks after surgery. I think this helps protect your healing wounds during the early stages of healing, when you are experiencing post-operative swelling and the strain on the incisions is the greatest. Good question: Most trainers will recommend stretching before exercise. There was a recent study however that looked at stretching before exercise. It found the most injuries in patients who did not stretch regularly but did for the study and patients that do stretch regularly but not for the study.
